POM-C is one of the mechanically best materials to use with the laser cutter at the lab. It is similar to delrin.

Final location TBD. As of 2019-01-18 the sheets are leaning on the wall next to the electronics room but hopefully they will find a better location ASAP

POM-Stash

This is not a Hacklab official thing, this is a separate, private setup offered by Tjl. Any comments are welcome on slack or in person.

Current inventory

You can find the current (not updated live!) inventory and prices at the spreadsheet

(note: there is some tolerance in the thicknesses, measure before using if your design is sensitive to thickness)

Procedure

1. Cut your part (either use laser cutter directly or cut with the circular saw or bandsaw)

2. Calculate your area. Use the largest rectangle that contains all your markings. If that would leave less than 5cm of material in some direction, you must pay for that material as well.

3. Use the form to report your usage https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScrr4w0Cu22V43BUmgu0zslpP6bAlFp11coZ2EJREG9wHoD_A/viewform?usp=sf_link

4. Pay to Tjl (either in person or ask for the bank account number as a private message on Slack. This will probably be optimized later)
